Riko Shibata is the fifth wife of popular actor Nicolas Cage. The couple got married on February 16, 2021, in a small and intimate wedding at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. Shibata, who is over 30 years younger than Cage, was born on January 10, 1995. They met through mutual friends while Cage was filming his movie Prisoners of the Ghostland in Shiga, Japan. Shibata now goes by the name Riko Cage.

Cage and Shibata’s love story began when they met in Japan. They were first photographed together in February 2020 while visiting Cage’s tomb in New Orleans. The couple got engaged over FaceTime in August 2020, as they were separated due to the pandemic. Cage proposed with a unique black diamond ring, customized and personalized to Shibata’s liking.

Their wedding ceremony was held on February 16, 2021, and Shibata wore a handmade Japanese bridal kimono from Kyoto. The couple celebrated with a small gathering that included Cage’s ex-wife Alice Kim and their son Kal-El. They made their red carpet debut in July 2021 at the premiere of Cage’s film Pig and also attended the 2021 GQ Men of the Year party together.
