I find the ideology and abject ignorance on the Right untenable. They are parrot brained sheep, incoherent, obtuse and perhaps worst of all – boring. Jeebus are these people boring. But I have to say, I do share one thing in common with them…I enjoy a good conspiracy theory. I generally don’t take things at face value, so I’m open to other interpretations. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those Illuminati types who incessantly babble on about the New World Order and all that garbage. To tell you the truth, I’ve had people try and explain it to me many times and I still don’t get it. Apparently, the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center were a hologram…or a video? I don’t know what the hell they’re on about. It’s obvious lunacy. That being said, there are a few classic conspiracies I do entertain. First off, I don’t believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. That one seems a no-brainer to me. Also – and this is the biggie – I don’t think we ever landed on the moon. I just find it hard to believe that over 40 years ago, we were up there cruising around on golf carts, taking gallery quality photographs, then easy peasy, zipping back home in a spaceship ensconced in gold tinfoil – all with the technological capacity of an Apple IIe computer. Meanwhile, the Mars lander we’ve got up there creeps along like a tranquilized tortoise, moving about an inch every five months. It just strains plausibility. You’re not going to sway me. I have many very smart friends who have tried. They say there’d be no way to keep that big a secret from the world, which I find a laughable argument. But, whatever. I’m not militant about it.
All of this is to say, we are living in a beauty of a time for conspiracy theorists. I mean, we’ve got it all – Russia, hacking, money laundering, e-mails, FBI, CIA, BBC, BB King… dig it, dig it, dig it…hell if you wanna throw the Illuminati into the mix, be my guest – I still don’t know what the hell it is, but at this point nothing would shock me. The best part of it all, is that Trump is so unstable, we might all get a chance to peek behind the curtain. Every day is ‘anything can happen day’ with that guy.
Here’s my personal theory about Donald – he’s setting up the conditions for his resignation. It’s a pretty simple supposition, not as elaborate as aliens or a New World Order, but what it lacks in sexiness it more than makes up for in believability.
So…this is the deal…
Donald Trump knows that special counsel Robert Mueller has enough shit on his sketchy business dealings with Russia to set up his prosecution. It’s got nothing to do with collusion or treason or any of that spy vs. spy stuff. It’s all about his development deals and money laundering. Yes, he was involved with Russia and yes, Donald is afraid of them – hence the reason why he never has a bad word about Putin. But what Mueller is looking at are the investments and exchanges pre-candidacy. The collusion stuff is a non-starter. Yeah, they took meetings with Russian operatives, but it’s all too nebulous to nail anyone about it, except maybe Paul Manafort – who Mueller’s now got by the short hairs.
Okay. Now, here’s the conspiracy portion. Trump wants to resign before Mueller nails him – he’s just waiting for the right time. Have you noticed that he’s stopped talking about Comey, the special counsel and our intelligence agencies? After months of him railing against them, he’s now saying he only wants to cooperate fully with Mueller and is not looking to fire him. Why do you think that is? I’ll tell you why – he wants out. Getting prosecuted over business is no biggie for Trump. He’s been through it a million times before, whether it was over his racist discrimination or his phony university, he’s always emerged unscathed.
So, here’s what I think will happen.
Mueller will issue his report about his nefarious business dealings and Trump will happily resign before any prosecution. He will claim that a line was crossed into his personal life, that he’s been unfairly harangued and persecuted by the media, Mueller and the anti-fa leftists. He will then leave the office with his base still firmly in his pocket and go on to do another reality show or form Trump TV or whatever it is. And that will be that. All of this recent pandering to the alt-right was all a ploy to ensure they will follow him when he goes. Period.
As I said, it’s not a mind-blower…it’s actually just depressing and craven. Still, at this point it is technically only a conspiracy theory. But let’s be honest, does Trump seem like a happy guy to you? Many sources, including one close to The Z Review, have alleged that the man is miserable – that he hates being President, that he’s in fact, very vocal about it. It makes you almost, kinda sorta feel sorry for him – almost…kinda sorta.
Look for it all to happen this fall…the ratings will be yuuuge. And remember – you heard it here first!
