Senator John McCain has been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of brain cancer called primary glioblastoma. The diagnosis was confirmed after McCain underwent surgery to remove a blood clot on Friday at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix. Post surgical brain scans show that the tumor was completely removed. Still, this is very grave news for the senator. The average survival for malignant glioblastoma is approximately 14 months with treatment. Ted Kennedy had the same kind of cancer
McCain is recuperating at his home in Arizona and will likely receive radiation and chemotherapy to treat this condition.
